Malcolm Farley is the “poster boy” for “Destinations” . Growing up in the Himalayas of Northern India with children from all across the globe, Malcolm was immersed in the nuances of various cultures at an early age. A three month voyage via Greek freighter from New York, stopping at ports along both the west and east coasts of Africa, served as a “baptism” into a whole new lifestyle that would provide him with a “lust” for travel throughout his life.
His sports ability allowed him many opportunities for travel through out southeast Asia during his formative years. Malcolm was able to view daily life and the art of Asian cultures which would provide a bank of imagery from which he draws upon even today.
Now years later, Malcolm has two sons of Native American descent. He studied their heritage in depth and spent time expressing his emotions by painting the tribal ceremonies of the Sioux Indians. He is now remarried to a Jamaican woman and has a new “Global Son”. He has taught in China, painted the beauty of the Caribbean for various magazines, captured the Olympics in Sidney, and now lives several months a year in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In each situation he has delved deep into the cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people with whom he has shared his immense talents.
His latest canvases intensely radiate the color and pageantry of our world’s greatest possession, it’s people!
